An OpenAI employee, Abdulrahman Alfozan, was arrested for allegedly installing a hidden recording device in a conference room. The device was found behind a TV and was encrypted. Alfozan, a 35-year-old Saudi national, faces up to five years in prison if convicted. OpenAI discovered the device two days after it was installed and reported the incident to the FBI. Surveillance footage showed Alfozan near the conference room before the device was found. A second recording device was also found in his bag. OpenAI has since terminated his employment and emphasized the importance of security against sophisticated threats.
