ANC head: Romania has national AI hub funded with EUR 60 mln in structural funds

Romania is establishing a national AI hub with 60 million euros in funding, focusing on AI and quantum technologies. The National Research Authority aims to create 18 excellence centers, enhancing research and innovation. International cooperation, particularly with South Korea, is emphasized for advancing AI development. Concerns about AI-related cyber threats were also discussed, highlighting the dual nature of AI as both a protective and a potential risk factor. The workshop at the Palace of Parliament addressed AI governance and cybersecurity issues.
