Lucian Pahonțu's doctoral thesis contains at least 30% plagiarized content, primarily from military documents and books. The analysis reveals numerous identical fragments without proper citation, raising serious academic integrity concerns. Pahonțu's work, which is largely a compilation of existing military definitions and regulations, also suffers from grammatical errors. Despite the findings, Pahonțu has not responded to requests for comment. His doctoral title significantly advanced his career, leading to his promotion and subsequent appointment as head of the SPP. The thesis, consisting of 205 pages, lacks original contributions and fails to adhere to academic citation standards, with many sources improperly referenced.
