The local market remains expensive compared to Vienna's hub, where prices are around 380 lei/MWh. Factors driving Romanian prices include high stockpiling pressures and limited supply sources. The liquidity and competition in Vienna's market contribute to lower prices, while Romania's reliance on domestic production and single import routes leads to higher costs. Additionally, aggressive stockpiling requirements in Romania artificially inflate demand and prices, contrasting with Austria's more relaxed approach.
