An independent AI-based project analyzed nearly 2,500 Romanian public institution websites, revealing extensive cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The initiative, called Digital Barometer, was led by cybersecurity expert Mircea Șerdin, who developed the AI agent 'Tyche' to assess the digital hygiene of public administration. The analysis found that 61.4% of websites had critical security configurations, and 94.4% lacked a Web Application Firewall. Following the report's release, 23 institutions requested technical sheets for identified issues. A second edition of the Digital Barometer is planned for August, expanding the analysis to more institutions.
