In August, the confidence indicator in Romania's economy dropped to 39.5 points, reflecting worsening economic expectations. Participants foresee continued stagflation and a depreciation of the leu, with 90% predicting a decline in its value against the euro. Economic growth is projected at only 0.1% for 2026, with a budget deficit of 5.8% of GDP. Additionally, 63% of respondents believe current residential property prices are overvalued. The survey, conducted by CFA Romania, gauges financial analysts' expectations regarding economic conditions and inflation rates.
