The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has launched "Operation ATOM" to conduct nationwide checks on second-hand car dealers. The initiative aims to ensure that the economic activities of these operators are accurately reflected in their financial records and tax documents. Initially, 35 entities were selected based on risk analysis, with a total estimated stock value exceeding 38 million euros. Inspectors will verify the physical presence of vehicles, their commercial origins, and compliance with VAT regulations. The operation seeks to address risks such as undeclared income and discrepancies between actual and recorded stock. ANAF emphasizes the importance of tracing the economic and fiscal circuit of vehicles to ensure fair competition and compliance with tax obligations.
