The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) will start issuing tax assessment decisions for individuals who failed to declare all their 2021 income, beginning July 27. This initiative targets those who did not submit the unique declaration or have discrepancies in their reported income. The campaign will extend to income verification from 2021 to 2024, potentially resulting in hundreds of thousands of decisions. ANAF has access to data from foreign tax authorities, which may affect Romanian citizens working abroad. Individuals must clarify their tax situation and submit accurate declarations to avoid penalties.
