ANAF a descoperit o schemă de fraudă cu peste 2.000 de mașini second-hand. Prejudiciu estimat la peste 26 de milioane de lei
The Romanian tax authorities have uncovered a cross-border VAT fraud scheme involving over 2,000 used cars, resulting in an estimated loss of over 26 million lei. Authorities seized assets worth over 21 million lei during the investigation, which spanned several counties and involved cooperation with EU tax authorities. The scheme utilized 'missing trader' companies in Hungary and Slovakia to purchase cars VAT-free, with operations shifting to new firms when VAT codes were revoked. Fake invoices and contracts were used to obscure the true nature of transactions, and the actual economic activity was conducted in Romania. The investigation is ongoing to fully assess the illicit activities and recover losses.
