The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has identified irregularities in VAT related to agricultural machinery, resulting in an additional payment of approximately 87 million lei. Inspections revealed discrepancies between the declared VAT treatment and the actual economic reality of the transactions. The agency emphasized that the issues were not due to the use of VAT codes across multiple EU states, but rather the incorrect fiscal treatment declared. ANAF plans to intensify risk analysis and checks for similar transactions to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
