The interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced that ANAF collected an additional 22.4 billion lei in the first half of the year, indicating a positive trend in Romania's financial stabilization. VAT collections reached 64.8 billion lei, up 25.9% from the previous year. Nazare emphasized the need for responsible spending alongside improved collection efforts, warning against unbacked expenditures. He highlighted areas needing improvement, such as reducing tax evasion and enhancing compliance. Nazare also mentioned an upcoming evaluation by S&P, stressing the importance of maintaining public finance stability.
