Amiba „mâncătoare de creier”, detectată într-o populară regiune turistică. Decizia luată după moartea unui instructor de schi nautic, în Mexic
Mexican authorities have detected the brain-eating amoeba "Naegleria fowleri" in six artificial lakes in Yucatan, following the death of a water ski instructor. The lakes, popular for recreational activities, have been closed for safety. Health officials are urging residents to seek medical attention if they suspect exposure to contaminated water. The amoeba thrives in warm freshwater environments and can cause severe infections, although they are rare. An investigation has been launched into the maintenance of the affected lakes.
