Amiba "mâncătoare de creier" a fost detectată în Yucatan / Șase lacuri au fost închise în Mexic / "Infectarea se produce atunci când apa contaminată pătrunde prin nas"

Mexican authorities have reported the presence of the deadly "brain-eating" amoeba in six artificial lakes in Yucatán, leading to their closure. This follows the death of a water ski instructor who contracted Naegleria fowleri. Health officials have increased monitoring in the area, urging residents to seek medical attention if they suspect exposure to contaminated water. The amoeba thrives in warm, stagnant freshwater and can cause severe infections, although they are rare. An investigation has been launched into the maintenance of the affected lakes.
