Americanii vor să controleze activele rusești înghetate în UE. Răspunsul europenilor
The U.S. proposed that European nations transfer frozen Russian assets to a Washington-controlled fund to aid peace negotiations in Ukraine. This suggestion, made during recent discussions in Miami, was rejected by European officials, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who emphasized that decisions regarding these assets should remain in Europe. The proposal raised concerns in the EU about U.S. intentions and the differing approaches to pressuring Russia. Currently, around 260 billion euros of Russian state assets are frozen, primarily in Belgium, and any release would require consensus from all EU member states, which seems unlikely. The Kremlin has vowed to pursue the return of these assets through legal means.
