American companies are showing significant interest in the Adriatic-Ionic Highway project, which aims to connect Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, and Greece. This infrastructure initiative is expected to create a new transport route along the Adriatic and Ionian seas, with an estimated cost of up to 2.8 billion euros for the Montenegrin section alone. The project involves approximately 127 kilometers of highway, and U.S. firms may also participate in financing. The initiative has gained traction following a cooperation agreement between Montenegro and the U.S., with a focus on developing the entire Montenegrin corridor rather than isolated sections. Additionally, American companies have expressed interest in sections of the highway in Bosnia and Herzegovina, indicating a broader commitment to enhancing regional connectivity in Southeast Europe.
