US Ballistic will produce NATO 155 mm ammunition in Bumbești-Jiu, investing $25 million in infrastructure over five years and creating 150 jobs initially. The project includes technology transfer and infrastructure improvements, with the platform remaining state-owned. The rental contract starts at €1.3 million annually, indexed to inflation, and is expected to generate €20 million in rental income for the state over ten years. This investment aligns with increased demand for artillery ammunition in Europe, as Romania also develops its own artillery capabilities.
