The Senate has adopted a law imposing strict penalties for selling thesis papers, with fines up to 200,000 lei. The law allows police to investigate suspected purchased works without university involvement. Any individual or entity can report such cases. The initiative aims to protect students' efforts in their academic work, as stated by the proposal's initiator, Adrian Echert. The law now moves to the Chamber of Deputies for a vote.
