The Local Police of Bucharest has checked over 4,000 trucks in the first eight months of the year, issuing fines totaling 3.6 million lei for unauthorized circulation in restricted areas. In the last month alone, 60 fines were issued, amounting to over 245,000 lei. The checks targeted heavy vehicles on major roads throughout the city. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu has proposed a new regulation to reduce heavy traffic in Bucharest, lowering fees for certain areas while doubling fines for unauthorized access. The aim is to improve road safety and reduce infrastructure damage caused by heavy vehicles.
