The National Environmental Guard imposed fines totaling 1.76 million lei and suspended 13 activities during two days of inspections on the Black Sea coast. Inspectors found illegal wastewater discharges and reported them to the Prosecutor's Office. Twelve teams are actively monitoring compliance with environmental laws during the peak summer season. Common violations include operating without environmental permits and improper waste management. Inspections will continue until August 9, following a recent call for intensified checks by the Minister of Environment.
