Former Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete highlights a paradox in Romania's healthcare system, where 2,000 newly qualified doctors remain unemployed despite a significant staff shortage. He emphasizes the need for legislative changes to allow hospitals to fill budgeted positions, which could potentially open up around 10,000 roles. Rogobete warns that even with these changes, the healthcare system will still face a substantial personnel deficit, estimated between 26,000 and 30,000. The adopted amendment by the Health Committee is set to be debated in the Chamber of Deputies.
