The U.S. and Romania have delivered the first nine amphibious assault vehicles (AAVs) to Romania, enhancing NATO's security along the Black Sea coast. This marks a significant step in defense cooperation between the two nations. The AAVs, designed for challenging terrains, will undergo specialized training for operational readiness. U.S. Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg emphasized the importance of capabilities and trust within the alliance. The AAV7A1 can transport up to 21 Marines and is built for durability and mobility, reflecting a long-term investment in national defense infrastructure.
