Ambasada SUA anunță beneficii pentru românii care au lucrat în Statele Unite

Romanians who worked in the U.S. can now combine their contributions from Romania to qualify for pensions and vice versa. The bilateral social security agreement between Romania and the U.S. became effective on September 1, 2026, allowing for the consideration of work periods in both countries for pension eligibility. This agreement does not transfer pension contributions between countries but allows individuals to receive separate pensions from each country based on their respective work periods. Additionally, Romanian workers temporarily assigned to the U.S. will not have to pay social security contributions in both countries. However, the agreement does not cover private pensions or health insurance programs like Medicare.
