The court ruled that the funds were joint property and given without the wife's consent. The millionaire claimed he was manipulated and affected by mercury poisoning, but this was disproven. The relationship lasted nearly three years, during which the mistress received luxury gifts worth around 2 million euros. The affair ended with legal disputes after the mistress discovered the man was married. The court's decision can be appealed.
