The Bucharest City Hall announced the integration of four more intersections into the intelligent traffic light system BTMS, totaling 267 intersections. This system aims to reduce travel times, improve traffic flow, and prioritize public transport. The newly added intersections include several on Calea Giulești and Splaiul Independenței. The project for expanding BTMS was initially funded by the European PNRR but lost funding. A new funding application has been submitted through the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Program. The intelligent system allows real-time traffic management from a central control point, enhancing reliability and energy efficiency.
