Alfred Simonis expressed his willingness to support a joint candidate from PNL for the vacant mayoral position in Timișoara, contingent on the candidate being from PNL. He criticized the pressure from PNL Arad's leader, Gheorghe Falcă, on local PNL members to accept USR's proposals, which he views as politically disadvantageous for PNL Timiș. Simonis emphasized that while he is open to supporting a PNL candidate, he categorically ruled out the possibility of himself being a candidate. He also mentioned that PSD could propose its own candidate if necessary, but he prefers collaboration with PNL and USR for the elections.
