Alexandru Nazare, după scăderea ratei inflației: Direcția este cea bună. Este obligatoriu să continuăm eforturile de corecție
The interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, emphasized the need for continued budgetary consolidation despite a significant drop in inflation. Following the announcement of a decrease in the annual inflation rate to 6.2% in August from 8.2% in July, Nazare highlighted the government's commitment to fiscal correction. He noted a 0.08% decline in consumer prices, excluding fuel, and a 0.7% drop in food prices. However, he warned that the recent decrease does not signify a return to pre-crisis price levels. The budget deficit has decreased by 37% compared to last year, and public investments have risen significantly. Nazare reiterated the importance of maintaining prudent policies to address ongoing high prices and purchasing power loss.
