Alertă West Nile în România: 83 de cazuri și 5 decese

The prolonged warm season keeps mosquitoes active, raising concerns about West Nile virus transmission. Although no cases have been reported in Sibiu this season, there have been 83 cases and 5 deaths nationwide. The local health authority advises the public to take protective measures against mosquitoes, especially during outdoor activities. The director of DSP Sibiu highlighted a significant increase in cases compared to last year. Preventive measures include wearing protective clothing, using repellents, and eliminating mosquito breeding sites. Authorities stress caution for those spending time outdoors, despite the absence of confirmed cases in Sibiu this season.
