Alertă medicală: Un medicament popular pentru erecție poate crește riscul de orbire

Recent research indicates that tadalafil, a common medication for erectile dysfunction, may significantly increase the risk of glaucoma. A study from Taiwan analyzed health data from over 74,000 men aged 40 and older, revealing a 22% higher risk of glaucoma among those using tadalafil. The risk escalated to 33% for open-angle glaucoma, the most prevalent form. Additionally, users faced a 32% increased risk of developing ocular hypertension. While the study found a statistically significant association, it was observational and cannot confirm direct causation. Experts advise regular eye check-ups for men on tadalafil, as glaucoma can progress silently without early warning signs.
