Alertă în UE, după incidentul de laborator din Rusia urmat de moartea unei femei din cauza ciumei. Şi SUA au cerut detalii
Europe is closely monitoring a suspected plague case in eastern Russia following the death of a laboratory employee. The European Commission confirmed awareness of the incident involving a potential plague pathogen. The U.S. State Department is also tracking the situation and urged Moscow to provide accurate information promptly. A 28-year-old employee from the Irkutsk Institute for Plague Control died from what may be pneumonic plague, although the exact cause remains unconfirmed. Over 200 individuals have been quarantined as a precaution. Pneumonic plague is highly contagious and can be fatal if untreated, with a mortality rate ranging from 30% to 100%.
