Although the situation caused concern, authorities assured that there was no immediate danger to the public. The event, attended by around 23,000 people, saw the UK win gold medals in both men's and women's 4x100m relays, but six award ceremonies were canceled due to the incident. Organizers apologized for the disruptions and prioritized safety.
