"Micile Speranțe," the latest documentary by Alexandru Solomon, has been selected for IDFA 2026, showcasing the intricacies of Romania's electoral process. Filmed between April 2024 and summer 2025, it captures the fragility of democracy and the impact of misinformation. Solomon's access to behind-the-scenes moments offers a unique perspective on the political landscape, inviting viewers to reflect on their own views. The film is set to premiere in Romanian cinemas in January 2027 and is produced by microFILM Romania and While We’re Here Belgium, with support from the Romanian National Cinema Center. Solomon is a renowned documentary filmmaker known for exploring Romania's recent history and societal contradictions.
