The Russian ambassador to Romania, Vladimir Lipaev, was among the first to cast his vote. This polling station is the only one in Romania for these elections, open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Eligible voters are Russian citizens aged 18 and over with valid passports. Nationally, elections for the State Duma are held from September 18-20, with initial results expected later in the evening. Voter turnout reached 44.38% by Saturday evening. These elections are the first parliamentary elections in Russia since the Ukraine invasion began in February 2022, and are seen as a test of support for Putin's policies. The ruling party, United Russia, is expected to maintain control amid a diminished anti-war opposition, with the Yabloko party excluded from the ballots.
