Alegeri Bosnia și Herțegovina în 2026

Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will vote on October 4 for their future leadership across three administrative levels. The country is divided into two entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska, as per the Dayton Agreement. Preliminary results will be announced on election night, with final results expected after counting votes from the diaspora. This election occurs amid political tensions following a coalition agreement in 2022. Over 3.4 million eligible voters will select their leaders, with new biometric technology enhancing voter identification. The collective presidency consists of representatives from the three main ethnic groups: Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs. However, ethnic voting restrictions apply, complicating the electoral process. Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun EU accession negotiations, but political blockages hinder progress.
