Alb, roșu sau cu bule? Vinul care poate da cele mai mari bătăi de cap stomacului
The effects of wine on the stomach vary by type and individual sensitivity, with white wine often causing more issues for those with gastroesophageal reflux. Gastroenterologist Roberto Bertè explains that all alcoholic beverages can trigger reflux symptoms, but white wine is particularly problematic. Sparkling wines can also exacerbate symptoms due to carbonation. Alcohol relaxes the muscle separating the esophagus and stomach, allowing stomach acid to rise. A study indicated that white wine reduces the pressure of the muscle more than red wine, increasing reflux risk. Bertè advises limiting wine intake to one glass, preferably during meals, and suggests red wine over white to minimize symptoms. Symptoms like heartburn and acid regurgitation may occur after wine consumption, and if they persist, reducing or avoiding alcohol is recommended.
