This decision follows a request from French authorities for continued support. The Romanian contingent will take over operational responsibilities on August 1, 2026, ensuring seamless intervention capabilities. The mission emphasizes Romania's commitment to European solidarity and international cooperation in civil protection. The operation is coordinated by the Department for Emergency Situations through the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
