From September 1-15, the excise tax is reduced by 25%, enabling eligible transporters to receive a refund of 43 bani per liter. The aid amount varies based on the level of excise reduction, with higher reductions leading to lower refunds. This adjustment aims to alleviate cost pressures on transporters and ensure compliance with EU tax regulations. The Romanian Road Authority is currently processing aid applications for the second quarter of 2026.
