The Romanian Chamber of Deputies approved new state aid schemes for cattle and pig farmers to mitigate rising production costs. The measures aim to support producers affected by the economic crisis in the Middle East, with financial assistance available from March 1 to December 31, 2026. The total budget for cattle farmers is approximately 54.4 million euros, while pig farmers will receive over 11.5 million euros. Farmers can apply for aid through a single request, and additional measures to control African swine fever were also approved.
