Low-income Romanians will receive financial support for heating costs this winter, as part of an annual government program. The aid, based on legislation for vulnerable consumers, will be available from November 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The amount varies depending on family income and heating type, starting from 250 lei for natural gas users to 500 lei for electric heating. Applicants must submit a complete file to their local municipality, including identity documents and proof of income. Applications must be registered by the 20th of each month to receive assistance in that month.
