Airbnb has launched an optional weather insurance for travelers in ten European countries, compensating for stays affected by rain. The insurance, developed in partnership with Chubb, aims to alleviate the impact of bad weather on trips. It offers daily payouts ranging from €50 to €1,000 if specific rainfall thresholds are met during the stay. Currently available in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden, the policy must be purchased at least seven days before the trip. Automatic monitoring of rainfall will ensure hassle-free compensation for users.
