Airbnb has started notifying Romanian property owners with listings in buildings classified as seismic risk RsI, requiring them to prove compliance with safety regulations. Owners have 14 days to provide documentation or face delisting. This action aligns with a 2024 law prohibiting rentals in such buildings. The law aims to enhance safety, as RsI buildings are at high risk of collapse during earthquakes. Failure to comply may result in fines up to 10,000 lei. Over 200 tourist accommodations in RsI buildings were identified in Bucharest, highlighting the urgency of this issue.
