The system will be mandatory for heavy vehicles on national roads, expressways, and highways in Romania. Testing of the platform began on September 15, 2026, and will conclude on September 29, 2026. TollRo offers various payment options, including distance-based tariffs and advance route tickets. The mobile app is free and available for iOS and Android, allowing users to purchase road taxes and receive notifications. Existing road taxes remain valid until their expiration date, and educational materials will be provided to assist users.
