The AFM has approved 9,743 applications for the Rabla Auto 2026 program, allowing beneficiaries 60 days to scrap their old cars. The total value of approved eco-tickets is 124.2 million lei. However, budgets for electric vehicles and motorcycles have been exhausted, while funds for thermal propulsion vehicles are still available until December 31, 2026. The program aims to modernize Romania's aging vehicle fleet, which has an average age of 16.5 years, making it one of the oldest in the EU.
