A recent study found a strong link between mobile gaming addiction and musculoskeletal pain among students. Those who spend excessive time on mobile games are at higher risk for back, wrist, neck, and elbow pain. The research involved 364 medical students in Jordan, revealing that 9% met the criteria for mobile gaming addiction. Dependent students reported significantly higher rates of neck pain (85.3%) compared to non-dependent peers (65%). Similar trends were observed for upper back and elbow pain. The study highlights the need for awareness regarding digital health and ergonomic education, suggesting that gaming should be viewed beyond just screen time and psychological well-being.
