Artificial intelligence is increasingly benefiting global healthcare by reducing bureaucracy and increasing patient treatment capacity, according to the Future Health Index study by Royal Philips. The study surveyed over 2,000 healthcare professionals and 20,000 patients across ten countries. Key challenges include staff shortages and inefficient data sharing. In Romania, healthcare spending per capita is the lowest in the EU, impacting life expectancy and healthcare quality. AI implementation is reported to improve patient care and workflow efficiency, with many professionals experiencing reduced burnout and better work-life balance. The study highlights AI's potential to bridge gaps in healthcare access, especially in rural areas, and emphasizes the importance of human oversight in AI applications in medicine.
