Cybersecurity experts warn about the NGate malware, which is hidden in fake mobile payment apps. This malware can steal bank card details and PINs, allowing criminals to withdraw money from victims' accounts. It primarily targets Android users and exploits the Handy Pay service to transmit NFC data to attackers. Infected apps are not found on the official Google Play store but on imitation sites. Users in Romania are among the targets, with the campaign also affecting Brazil, Russia, and Germany. Experts advise downloading apps only from trusted sources and using antivirus solutions for added protection.
