Agricover: Costul unui hectar a ajuns la 5.000 lei

Romanian farmers are facing significant production cost increases due to rising diesel and fertilizer prices, with average costs reaching around 5,000 lei per hectare. Inflation in Romania hit 9.2% in June 2026, impacting farmers' expenses. International energy market fluctuations have further exacerbated costs, with oil prices up 36% since December 2025. Farmers have reduced fertilizer usage over the past two years to manage expenses, but this strategy is unsustainable long-term. While local production resumption could alleviate some logistical costs, it won't eliminate price pressures influenced by gas costs and international rates. Despite good yields, the gap between selling prices and production costs remains a critical issue for farmers.
