AGERPRES has secured a funding contract of 7.5 million lei for the digitization of its historical archive, aimed at preserving and making it accessible to the public. The project, funded entirely by non-reimbursable sources, will run from September 28, 2026, to September 28, 2029. It will digitize 100,000 photographs and texts, creating a public digital archive accessible online. The initiative includes developing software platforms for image verification and news certification, enhancing public access and combating misinformation. AGERPRES aims to attract over 12,200 users annually during implementation and 68,000 in the sustainability phase.
