Agenţii ICE vor purta bodycam-uri când opresc suspecți. „Să vadă și poporul american ce văd ei”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will wear body cameras during vehicle stops to enhance transparency and accountability. Tom Homan, the border enforcement coordinator, stated that these devices can exonerate agents and allow the public to see their perspective during incidents. Following recent fatal shootings of suspects, ICE plans to implement a pilot program for body cameras in five cities in 2024. Funding for the cameras was previously blocked during a government shutdown, but training for their use is now underway. The initiative aims to improve oversight amid concerns over the use of force by agents.
