Agenţia Fitch avertizează: România poate să ajungă în categoria "junk" dacă persistă criza politică
Romania faces a potential downgrade to junk status due to prolonged political instability affecting fiscal credibility, according to Fitch analyst Malgorzata Krzywicka. The next credit rating review is scheduled for January 2027, following a narrow escape from downgrade two months ago. Efforts to form a stable government have failed, increasing the likelihood of early elections. Krzywicka emphasized the need for a credible fiscal plan and further deficit reduction to stabilize public debt. The slow economic growth and high inflation also raise concerns, with traders already treating Romanian bonds as junk-rated. Despite favorable deficit figures this year, the country must address its fiscal challenges to avoid a downgrade.
