Africa CDC avertizează că focarul de Ebola din RD Congo nu este sub control

The Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is not under control, according to the Africa CDC director. Despite some encouraging signs noted by WHO, the current epidemic has resulted in thousands of deaths and cases. The outbreak, which began in Ituri province, has spread to remote areas where healthcare responses are overwhelmed. The Africa CDC emphasizes that the peak of the epidemic has not been confirmed, while the Congolese government claims it has been reached. There is currently no approved vaccine or treatment for the Bundibugyo strain causing this outbreak, although doses of a vaccine for another strain have been sent to assess their effectiveness.
